Ira SenGupta Receives Award

We are very proud that CCHCP’s Senior Advisor and former Executive Director, Ira SenGupta, received the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) 2021 Language Access Champion Award! Ira has been a guiding light and a pioneer in the medical interpreting profession. She has made a difference in our health care system by enabling equitable access to care for patients facing linguistic and cultural barriers. Her impact has been widespread, not only through the thousands and thousands of people who have taken the Bridging the Gap training, the gold standard for medical interpreter training which she had a lead role in creating, but also through her work in developing CCHCP’s cultural competency training program and our Connecting to Care: Patient Guide program as well. Congratulations, Ira!
